Lauterbrünnen Valley, Switzerland
Some years ago, Sara and I skied the Lauberhorn, a world-cup downhill run in the Alps of Switzerland. We skied the entire length, ending at the small village of Wengen where I pulled out my throw-away camera and took a photo looking down into the Lauterbrünnen Valley, 2000 feet below. Last year I found the small photo and used it to paint the 24 x 30 piece above.
Below is a view of the Lauberhorn World Cup downhill, the world's longest! Notice the Eiger in the upper-right background.
